WHERE I’M FROM

I was born by the coast of Yemen, in a pretty port city called Aden. At 2 years old, I moved around a bit in the states. I spent my early years in Philadelphia, living on the second floor of my uncle’s convenient store. I enjoyed talking to customers, eating hoagies, and researching my latest hyperfixations.

PERSONAL LIFE

When I’m not designing, I’m kayaking, exploring NYC or dreaming of visiting Cairo again. I also enjoy watching Liverpool FC lift the premier league trophy (go Reds!) and studying Art History (big fan of Claude Monet).

WHERE I’M CURRENTLY AT

Currently I’m in Toronto volunteering at a developmental research lab with Dr. Lara Pierce where we are conducting a longitudinal study on how children develop complex visual and linguistic abilities — an experience that has deepened my understanding of human-centred design.

In the past, I was the Director of Communications for a social justice initiative where I led the design and launch of a responsive website, built partnerships with NGOs, and maintained digital platforms to amplify our impact.

I've been a finalist in designathons, earned my Google UX Design Certificate, and am expanding my skills through a web design program at George Brown College. I’m passionate about creating intuitive, inclusive experiences that are both thoughtful and impactful.
